Obituary

In memoriam- After a two year battle with liver cancer Brian Ethan Key with his wife beside him passed away at the age of 69. Brian was born September 13,1956 in Clearlake, South Dakota. Brian lived in Idaho, Washington State, and Nevada before finally settling in Texas.
Brian determined that a formal education was not his thing causing him to dropout of his senior year (1974 Fernley) in high school. Upon getting his GED he joined the army in 1974 becoming a boiler mechanic stationed in South Korea.

Upon leaving the army Brian was a wanderer, he loved adventure traveling all over the country, hitch hiking back and forth and up and down the country before returning and finally settling down in Carson City.

Brian is survived by his sons with his first wife Myrna Carol; Matt Andrew, (Kirsten), granddaughter Grace; and son Anthony Brian. His wife Pamela (Young), stepdaughter's Tai and Celeste and stepson Christopher. His sister, Elizabeth 'Beth' Rose (Brent) Ely, NV, brother John (Diana) Silver Springs, NV, and sister Janine Weekley (Gus) Fernley, NV, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Brian worked in many professions during his life with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge researching and reading up on topics he was interested in. Brian enjoyed fishing along with multiple hobbies; repairing clocks, rebuilding vintage watches, bladesmithing, and his real pleasure gem cutting.

Brian's family was blessed to have him come back to Nevada in September 2025 allowing him to celebrate his birthday with his family around him.

Brian will be remembered for that tilt of his head and infectious smile. Brian was a member of the Southern Baptist church. Brian stopped his cancer treatment last fall stating he believed the gospel and he knew where he was going, he was going to Heaven. His family sad to know he is gone looks forward to a heavenly family reunion one day.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents John (Jack) and Phyllis (Sample) and first wife Myrna Carol.
His family expresses a heartfelt thank you to Brian's hospice team at Heart to Heart in Sherman Texas
