Bobby Joe Murphy, age 88, of Whitewright, TX, peacefully passed away at Meadowbrook Care Center, Van Alstyne, TX on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Bobby was born on May 26, 1937 in Cannon, TX to Clarence Murphy and Opal Neathery Murphy.  He was a high school graduate and was formerly employed assembling trucks in the automotive business. He later married Ann Walthall.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church.  He loved being with his family and enjoyed bluegrass gospel music.  Bobby never met a stranger and had an interest in old cars and riding the country back roads.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife; T. Ann Murphy, his daughters; Christie Prindle and husband Eric, and Caren Sallas, his son; Bobby Alan Murphy, his daughters from his previous marriage, Nita Settle and Carolyn McVicker, his grandchildren; Justin Davis, Hailey Davis, Logan Sallas, Levi Sallas, Landen Sallas, Jeremy Srader, Ashley Brewster and Jordan Settle.  His brother Jimmy Murphy and sister Jewell Cody also survives him.

Graveside service will be Saturday, June 21, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, TX.  Family and friends visitation will be Friday, June 20, 2025, 6-8 P.M. at American Funeral Service, 4312 W. Crawford, Denison, TX.

Pallbearers will be Marty Belew, Eric Prindle, Jacob Edwards Logan Sallas, Levi Sallas, Landen Sallas.
