Billie Jean Hughes, age 79, of Achille, OK, left this earthly life peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on Thursday, January, 04.2024 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, TX. Billie was born on April 13, 1944 in Boswell, OK to A.J. Lewellan and Ethel (Cooper) Lewellen. Billie was formerly employed as a custodian at Achille ISD for 23 years.  She was a lifetime residence of Bryan County.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her son; Tom Sledge and wife Deborah of Denison, TX, daughters; Brenda Shadden and husband Rick of Wagoner, OK, Lisa Johnston and husband Steven of Colbert, OK, her sisters; Lorene Crow of Colbert, OK, Linda Gregg and husband Steve of Pottsboro, TX, brother; Kenneth Lewellen of Colbert, OK, twelve grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; AJ and Ethel Lewellen, her husbands; Alfred (Johnny) Hughes and Buddy Williams, her daughter; Bonnie West, her sisters; Virgie Crippin and Charlene Barnett.
