Hatton
Oct 20, 1947 — Feb 17, 2026
Collinsville
Betty Lee Pruitt Hatton, 78, of Collinsville, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2026.
Betty was born on October 20, 1947, in Peoria, Illinois, to Walter and Betty Pruitt. She lived a life marked by strength, creativity, and deep love for her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Pruitt; her mother, Betty Pruitt; her beloved husband, Michael Hatton; and her special companion, Gerald Griffith.
Betty spent many years driving semi-trucks alongside her husband, Mike, embracing the open road and the life they built together. She later served as a school bus driver for several local school districts, faithfully caring for the children she transported each day.
She had a creative spirit and rarely let her hands rest. Betty loved sewing blankets, quilts, and handmade bags for those she loved, stitching warmth and care into every piece. She also dedicated her talents to her church's women's ministry chemo bag project, blessing others during difficult times.
She is survived by her brothers, Tim and Lisa Pruitt of Los Lunas, NM, and Jacky and Herlinda Pruitt of Ft. Worth, TX; her children, Bo and Michelle Herendeen of Cleburne, TX; Becky and Kent McKinnis of Partridge, KS; and Benjamin and Kristin Hatton of Collinsville, TX; along with seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held on March 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 877 E Woodland St, Collinsville, TX 76233.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betty's honor to All American Dogs in Pilot Point, Texas. Donations may be made online at www.milesofhope.net.
Betty will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her creativity, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her quilts will continue to provide warmth, just as her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who knew her.
