Betty Jean
Betzer
May 23, 1960 — Jul 21, 2026
Denison
Betty Betzer, 66, of Denison, Texas, peacefully departed on July 21, 2026, after a long illness. Born on May 23, 1960, Betty lived a life defined by her fierce loyalty, deep generosity, and unwavering love for her family. As an amazing sister, mother, and aunt, Betty put everyone before herself. She was a selfless protector who always took up for the underdog; if she loved you, she stood for you without hesitation. Known for her sharp sense of humor and being honest to a fault, Betty brought truth and laughter into the lives of those around her. She possessed a rare, giving spirit and would truly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Outside of her family, Betty was a naturally creative soul who found great joy in arts and crafts, especially jewelry making, and could often be found listening to her favorite music. Her family takes immense comfort in knowing she is now free from pain and whole again. Her giant heart and protective nature will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Ashley Betzer; her sisters, Crystal Betzer-McKee and Robin Porter (Kurt); her brothers, George C. Betzer, and Johnny Ray (Beverly); her cherished nieces, Mazzie McKee, Kendra Betzer, and Kaylee Betzer; her nephew, Keaton Betzer; and her precious family from The Woodlands. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ruby and John Betzer, as well as her sweet nieces, Christy Waitman Tyree and Alyssa Porter.
In honoring Betty's explicit wishes, there will be no traditional funeral services. Instead, the family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date to remember and honor her beautiful legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Betty's memory to CASA of Grayson County or to support sexually abused children through the Children's Advocacy Center of Grayson County
