Mr. Vincent “Jack” Russler, age 70, passed away peacefully at the Hilltop Haven Center in Gunter, TX on January 5, 2013. He was born to Vincent and Lois Devine Russler on October 24, 1942 in Cleveland ,Ohio. Vincent moved with his parents to Phoenix AZ and graduated from Glendale High School in 1960, then attended Arizona State University. He followed his dad’s footsteps and became an electrician. He received his apprenticeship for journeyman electrician and worked in that capacity for many years. From 1966-1968, he served in the Peace Corps in Venezuela. While traveling with his buddy, Tim on triumph motorcycles, he met his wife Julia Kracke of Vancouver, BC in 1969 in Acapulco. They married in April 1969 in Benicia, CA. Jack served in the US Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and is a Vietnam Veteran. After his service time, he and his wife lived in Phoenix AZ and moved to Bonham, TX in 1981. Jack began working at the Sam Rayburn Memorial VA Center in Bonham in 1983, in the engineering department. He retired from there in 2011 after 28 years of service. Mr. Russler has lived in the area the past 18 years. His passion for life were his family and his Harley. He also loved traveling, the out doors and working with his tools. Vincent is survived by his wife of 43 years, Julia Russler, his brother, Gary Russler, of Vallejo, CA, his son Malachi and wife Kelly of Sherman, his daughter, Rebekah Jacobson & husband Wade, of Commerce, TX, his grandchildren Laing Vincent Russler, Haylee Ober and Jayden Evans and his beloved pup, Rowdy, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent & Lois Devine Russler. Services for Mr. Russler will be held at the American Funeral Service Chapel, 4312 W. Crawford St. Denison, TX, on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Clergy Michael Ryer officiating..
